Our History
At Hassell Fabrication, Inc., we are a family-owned business that has been around for over 65 years. We specialize in manufacturing logging equipment and dump bodies, and have the expertise and experience to meet the needs of our customers. In 1954, Dennis Ray Hassell began building logging stakes and bunks. He was a logger himself in New Mexico. After visiting Oregon, he moved his family there to be part of the logging boom. He saw a need for a better log bunk and after inventing his own design, other loggers wanted the same product for themselves. He sold his log truck to start the business and Hassell Fabrication was born.
Ray (as he preferred to be called) served people all over the Pacific Northwest to meet the demand of the logging boom. At one point, Hassell Fabrication was building 90% of the log bunks in Oregon, Washington and California.
Ray was an entrepreneur through and through - always thinking of ways to improve and things to invent. Logging bunks and stakes were the thing that stuck.
The business was handed down to Ray’s only son, Alan Ray Hassell. Who, with the help of his cousin, Claude Clason, kept the Hassell name in fabrication and manufacturing alive and well. Alan’s first-born son, Brett Hassell, now runs the business and strives to keep the spirit of Dennis Ray in the quality and design of every project he takes on.
